Central Railway Registers 16.78% Growth in Non-Fare Revenue, Earns ₹20.48 Crore Up To May 2026
Mumbai: Central Railway has registered Non-Fare Revenue of Rs. 20.48 crore in first two months—April-May in current fiscal of 2026-27, marking a growth of 16.78% over Rs 17.4 crore earned in the corresponding period last year.
In May 2026, 29 contracts were awarded through e-auction with a total Annual License Fee of Rs 409.72 lakh, reflecting Central Railway’s sustained focus on asset monetisation.
Under Mobile Asset advertising, Mumbai Division awarded contracts for full external vinyl wrapping and internal media on Train No. 22177 Mahanagari Express for Rs.13.22 lakh per annum for 5 years, on Train Nos. 11007/08 Deccan Express and 12051/52 Janshatabdi Express for Rs.12.50 lakh per annum for 5 years, and on Train Nos. 22107/08 CSMT-Latur-CSMT Express and 22143/44 CSMT-Bidar-CSMT Express for Rs 6.55 lakh per annum for 5 years. A contract for advertisement on head rests in CC coaches of 22229/22230 CSMT-Madgaon-CSMT Vande Bharat express was also awarded for Rs 16.83 lakh per annum for 3 years.
Under Out-of-Home advertising, Mumbai Division awarded contracts for 3 new hoardings at Navi Mumbai Airport Road for Rs.1.32 crore per annum for 5 years and a hoarding on Mulund Goregaon Link Road for Rs.17.10 lakh per annum for 5 years. Under RDN, contracts for non-digital glow sign boards at Targhar Station for Rs 6.00 lakh per annum for 3 years in Mumbai Division and sign boards at Dhamangaon for Rs.1.36 lakh per annum for 3 years in Nagpur Division were awarded.
Other major Non-Fare Revenue initiatives include Mumbai Division awarding contracts for a Rail Coach Restaurant at LTT for Rs 48.09 lakh per annum for 5 years, waiting room cum canteen facilities at New Mulund Goods Depot and Kalamboli for Rs.3.32 lakh per annum for 5 years, a Grocery/Photocopier store at Vasind for Rs 5.50 lakh per annum for 5 years, waiting room cum canteen at Trombay (Mahul) for Rs.1.65 lakh per annum for 5 years, and a Battery Swapping Station at Thane for Rs 5.26 lakh per annum for 5 years.
Bhusaval Division awarded contracts for on-board vending of miscellaneous items between Bhusaval-Nashik Road for Rs.45.73 lakh per annum for 3 years, a Rail Coach Restaurant at Akola for Rs 9.78 lakh per annum for 5 years, a Grocery store at Khandwa for Rs.1.56 lakh per annum for 3 years, mobile charging kiosks at Nashik Road and Bhusaval for Rs 3.40 lakh per annum for 5 years, and retiring room management at Devlali for Rs.0.22 lakh per annum for 5 years.
Nagpur Division awarded contracts for cleaning of empty BOXN rakes at New Balharshah Goods Shed for Rs.31.87 lakh per annum for 6 months, Door Closing and Empty Wagon Cleaning at Makardhokda for Rs 31.52 lakh per annum for 2 years, Mobile Food Vans at Amla and Balharshah for Rs 8.76 lakh per annum for 5 years, Two-Wheeler Packing at Parcel Office Ajni for Rs 2.42 lakh per annum for 3 years, truck parking cum stacking at Betul Goods Shed for Rs.2.12 lakh per annum for 3 years, Digital Locker Facility at Balharshah for Rs 1.10 lakh per annum for 3 years, waiting hall maintenance with mini refreshment unit at Wardha for Rs.1.15 lakh per annum for 3 years, and Grocery/Photocopier Centre at Chandrapur for Rs.0.71 lakh per annum for 3 years.
Central Railway is continuously leveraging its assets through innovative Non-Fare Revenue schemes to enhance passenger amenities and generate additional revenue without affecting core train operations.
