#IndianRailways (IR), it seems is running by #Gazetteers. Apart from mega #Kavach tenders, mega #AmritBharat works, expensive #VandeBharat tickets, vanished #GeneralClass seats-what has been copiously produced by #RailBhawan are the Gazettes!
Gazetting the great IR Mess: The IRMS
It took as many as 6 gazettes on Indian Railway Management Service (#IRMS) to just manage change of name of the services! Phew..

The reason lies in untreated, but well diagnosed problem we deliberated in:

One wonders, why there was no action taken on these ‘transformation’ agents? All they produced were gazettes and confusion in ranks which was well monetised by #Vigilance and Khan Market Gang (#KMG).
The #Emperor of Transformation who chose not to be a #bystander was booted out after this fracas. However, his #protege, the crown prince of transformation serving as #DRMBRC continues to be the role model for the contractual #CRB while presiding over one of the most flagrant departmental exam #scam in the history of IR. Having failed to monetise its assets, ably supported by well ‘gifted’ General Manager, Western Railway and the Chairman, DRM/BRC can now give lessons to IR leadership in #transformation which can help IR monetise its departmental exams. True transformation indeed.
No wonder he continues to be the blue eyed boy of the #TeesariManzil of Rail Bhawan.
Gazetted Slip: Kavach
See Mar 12, 2025: “The Ask : Part-I”. Here we discussed the last #Gazette Notification of last year-that was on Kavach.

Why last ten years have not been spent to strengthens what is the foundation of #Kavach, which is, #Interlocking and #Train-detection?
Even after lakhs of crores of investment, as the gazette says what would be achieved? Experts say that this infact would make Driver, Station Masters less sure of the situation enveloping them.
But sir, our great IR engineers will always say-we had already told you so, we infact gazetted it!
Railway Act (Amendment)
This is briliant obfuscation.
Mar 11, 2025: “Rajya Sabha Passes Historic Bill for Railway Reforms: Minister Highlights Key Achievements”
This #amendment aims at administrative efficiency by doing away the need of referring to two acts. Well sir, the two act conundrum if it ever were there never stopped the #kamikaze transformation which created a maze of as many as Six Gazettes based on opaque decisions which ended up only in creating gaping hole in railway #management by stopping recruitment through #UPSC for multiple years, break morale of senior management, turbocharge #corruption, reduce average #speeds despite lakhs of crores of investment.

So sir, do we understand that if there were an administrative expedience, then these massively egregious acts of commission could have been avoided? Answer sir is blowing in the wind, should you chose to read it-and its a resounding NO.
Good that IR dismounted the dead horse called IRMS though with bruises. Good that scandalous proprietary single tender emotional intelligence test has been called off. Good that #GatiShakti Works have been taken away from Divisions. Good that sense prevailed, though after disastrous #accidents to make divisions refocus on #safety. Good that sense prevailed to bring respect back to #RDSO. Good that efforts are made to bring #credibility to railway vigilance.
Question is, why is government insisting to first have egg on its face, blood on its hands before reviewing its decisions?
