18000 wagons are standing idle due to lack of loading demand, preparations are being made to purchase 40000 more wagons!
Harassed wagon builders have now stopped lifting supplies of wheels from RWF
Contracts worth 27000 Crores for supply of approx 75000 #wagons were placed in 2022. It is learnt from reliable sources that so far, while only approx 18000 wagons have been supplied, yards are getting choked as most of these #wagons are standing idle for want of loading.
In order to prevent further supply, wagon builders are being harassed deliberately. In result, wagon builders have now stopped lifting supplies of wheels from Rail Wheel Factory (#RWF). Below is the message from #RWF to #wagon builders-

This is clear cut case of excess #procurement. As per reliable sources, the officer Mr #RajeevSaxena the then #AMRS, #RailwayBoard who opposed it was forced to take premature retirement and a pliable and convenient officer Shri #AtulGupta was brought in. This is not less than a scam and needs to be thoroughly investigated.
Not only this, our sources also say that right now there is no space to park new wagons, and the brake power certification of the above new 18000 wagons that are standing unused is not being done, while preparations are also being made to purchase 40000 more wagons.
