Abducted minor girl rescued by ticket checking staff at Kurla railway station

Mumbai: On 27th January, 2024 during routine ticket checking at #Kurla Railway Station, platform no. 4, #CentralRailway, head TC/Kurla Ms. #Pushpa Daware observed a boy and a minor girl exhibiting suspicious behaviour. Upon requesting to see their tickets, they were unable to produce any tickets.

Following the procedure, an attempt was made by Ms. Daware to collect railway dues from the both ticketless persons, but they lacked the necessary funds.

After that head TC Ms. #PushpaDaware with the help of head TC Smt. Meju Naresh Kumar and head TC Virendra Kumar Gupta promptly escorted them to the TC office, where she diligently inquired about their residential addresses and identification, and contacted their parents.

Shockingly, it was revealed that the boy, identified as Akram Javedv Khan (aged-31) had abducted the minor girl, Aarti Rajbahadur (aged-16), from Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. Akram had enticed the victim with false promises of marriage and the allure of a luxurious lifestyle in Mumbai.

Upon contacting the victim’s parents at Mirzapur, it was discovered that they were destitute, belonging to an impoverished family. The girl’s father also told that an FIR has been lodged with the Mirzapur police against the boy – Akram Javed Khan – for abducting the minor girl, and the boy is also from Mirzapur.

Ms. Daware, displaying commendable dedication, handed both Akram Javed Khan and the rescued girl over to the government railway police (#GRP) at Kurla railway station with the memo for thorough investigation and necessary legal action.

In recognition of this noble act, Rajnish Goyal, the Divisional Railway Manager (#DRM), Mumbai Division, Central Railway, ADRM, and SrDCM expressed their heartiest appreciation for Ms. Pushpa Daware and her team’s exemplary work.
