RCF: To blackmail the firm and make illegal gratification, the seats/berths in the new coach were torn

#Railwhispers has recently published two cases of how vendors/suppliers are harassed for illegal extortion in Rail Coach Factory (#RCF), Kapurthala – #Primer Purchase and #BogieFrame Supply. Now another such case has come to the fore. The firm supplying ready-made seats and berths, whose owner did not come to meet the officers, that is, did not go to them to pay the #dasturi, in such a situation it was forced to follow the #tradition of #dasturi, was #blackmailed and supplied by it in the newly constructed coach. The berths/seats were torn with blades.
The coach no. 3248 was fully furnished and almost ready for its final dispatch. Unfortunately, the #vendor that supplied the #seats and #berths for the #coach failed to meet the undue demands of the #Vigilance and #Mechanical officer’s lobby by not providing the undue money (gratifications) as desired by them illegitimately.
Finally, they resorted to damaging the seats of the coach with the assistance of their preferred #vigilance inspector. He used a sharp blade to tear the seats with the help of a staff member from the #furnishing division and furnishing store depot staff.
This incident led to the #firm being threatened with consequences and the lodging of a recovery claim. The #firm was coerced into accepting their unjustified demands. This is the incident of the week between 10-14 July, 2023. The matter was just brushed aside in the meeting headed on 13.07.2023. Seats worth approx 15 lakh have been damaged through this cowardly act of the above mentioned black sheeps.
Additionally, it is worth noting that no investigation has been initiated by the #administration in this matter. The concerned #vendor has been asked to fix the seats at his own cost, while the officers have taken heaps of money in the garb of warranty claim.
The firm was not at fault in the whole incident, as its material was tested and fitted, the concerned coach was in RCF shop and under security. So how can the firm be made a scapegoat to make up for it?
On this whole episode, GM/RCF Ashesh Aggarwal said that this matter is not in his cognizance. He will get it thoroughly investigated. He also accepted that “prima facie no fault of the firm is visible in this matter, however something can be said only after investigation.”
However, many such rackets are going on in #RCF, for which a lobby of some officers is working here. Due to this, not only is there a systematic corruption going on, but it is also affecting coach production. This entire racket will be exposed in detail very soon!
