More than World class efficiency of Indian Railways..

On July 12th, I was travelling from Lucknow to Varanasi by Train No. 20504, Train Name, Dibrugarh Rajdhani in A1 compartment, seat no  33.

While getting down at Varanasi, I forgot to pick up my mobile phone, which got slipped from my pocket while I was sleeping on the berth. I realized the loss of phone only after reaching my Hotel, which was too late to go back and pick the phone, as train stoppage at Varanasi was only for 10 minutes.

On suggestion from Hotel reception counter, I got railway customer service number from Google, and lodged my complain giving the details at 11.43pm.

Customer service person informed us that your complain has been registered, and some one from concerned department will contact you.

To my surprise within a minute at 11.44pm I got the call from Indian Railway Complaint cell, she asked me some more details, and informed me that she is sending message to RPF unit travelling along with train, and I will get the message from them in due course.

At 11.53pm, again to my biggest surprise, I got the call from RPF inspector Abhilash Tripathi, travelling on the same train, that he had already got my phone and it is in his custody. As he was going with the train, and was to return next day only at 2.30am, he informed me, that he will deposit the phone at RPF police station in Varanasi on reaching, and I can go to Police Station next day as per my convenience, to collect the phone.

Again on 14th July, on reaching Varanasi, RPF inspector Abhilesh Tripathi called my wife and confirmed that my phone has been deposited and I can go to Police Station and collect it.

On 14th July I along with my wife went to the Police Station, around 10am and got my phone back, on completion of Railway formalities and showing my Identity.

This is a superlative efficiency of Indian Railways, adopting the technology, and making sure the working of the system for the benefit of Customers.

My wife and I both were happy to get the phone, but more than that, were delighted to have this experience of seeing a system which not only created but is working to its full efficiency. Whatever praise is done is less.

This has proved in realily:

छोड़ो कल की बातें, कल की बात पुरानी,
नई कलम से हम लिखेंगे मिलकर नई कहानी,
हम हिंदुस्तानी.. हम हिंदुस्तानी…

We should be proud to be Indians.

Lesson Learnt: If we start trusting and believing others that they will do their work as per their allotted duty, this simple trust and belief will make a big dent.
