Undue favour to vendors at the cost of passengers safety

RCF/Kapurthala recently manufactured more than 200 coaches of Garib Rath by using PU Foam merely on the strength of warranty certificate of the vendor and without subjecting it to laid down tests in the specification of a potentially fire hazards toxic material.
Normally, RITES carry out quality check based on independent testing. However, instead, they were asked to accept the entire material merely on the basis of vendor’s certification about quality.
By using substandard item, Indian Railway has not only suffered huge loss but also passengers life are put to fire hazards.
Let Indian Railway should take out sample of Foam from those coaches and get it tested in any certifier approved lab of EN 45545. Then truth will automatically come out.
Responsibility be fixed for waiving the full fledged inspection and thereby permitting entry of highly substandard safety item risking the lives of passengers in the event of fire in coaches.
It’s toxic and substandard material, and the truth will be known to all once this excercise is done.
