The Corona pandemic: An humanitarian initiative taken by NWR WWO
Facing severe shortage in market, Jaipur Coaching Depot staff have volunteered to make in-house cloth Face Mask and alcohol based Hand Sanitizers based on #WHO guidelines for the safety of all railway staff amidst sudden outbreak of deadly Novel #Coronavirus-19.
Being very essential items for human safety in this panic situation of novel coronavirus pandemic, there is shortage of these items and rates have also increased manifold.
1. Face Mask – Trimmers who were maintaining curtains of trains have been tasked with making of cloth face masks, around 130 facemasks are being made daily basis and being supplied to Train duty, running staff, on board commercial staff, medical staff etc.
2. Hand Sanitizer – Depot staff are also preparing 75% alcohol based hand sanitizer as per WHO guidelines for the railway staff. This is being made using facilities available in BIO lab and under supervision of Chemical and Metallurgical staff.
In an outstanding humanitarian initiative, President NWR WWO, Smt Yasha Prakash has literally taken up the onus of preparing masks in-house.
While prompting WWO members to take up the job voluntarily, she has today, on 24th March, personally stitched 60 masks from her own resources.
The proliferation of this commendable gesture can do wonders for frontline railway staff in dire need of this life saving device while maintaining the life line of the country to transport goods and commodities in these times of national crisis.
