Half hearted actions by Railways on the blatant corruption by Senior Officers of NFR

Guwahati: On the reported case by #Railwhispers dated 29.07.2025 regarding arrest two railway staff of #Mechanical department, #Kamakhya by #GRP/Siliguri after seizure with two bags with huge cash being allegedly sent by #SrCDO/GHY to Ranchi; #NFRailway is forced by #RailwayBoard to take some action against Dharmendra Kumar Sakhya, SrCDO/GHY.

July 29, 2025: “Two NFR staff detained at Siliguri by GRP with huge cash being sent by SrCDO/GHY?

Though it was late action, #GMNFR approved transfer of #DharmendraSakhya as #DyCME/EnHM/HQ—another plume posting—on the note dated 30.07.2025 of #PCME/NFR and the transfer order was issued vide Office Order No. 13/2025 (Mechanical) on 30.07.2025.

Dharmendra Sakhya had joined as SrCDO/GHY barely two months back from his earlier posting as #SrDME/Katihar.

In the meantime some more information has come out. As per the sources, total five bags were handed over to the carrier #PratapKumar, Technician/Kmahhya. However, the whereabouts of the balance three bags is still not known. Therefore, only a part of total cash under transit has been recovered.

The sources also pointed that Dharmendra Sakhya got released from the post of SrDME/Katihar after 12 day of reporting by his reliever at Katihar. As per the Office Order issued by Katihar Division with approval of #DRM/Katihar, the relieving officer was treated for 12 days as “waiting for posting”.

Sources also say that in these 12 days high value #tenders have been finalised by Tender Committee (#TC) led by Dharmendra Sakhya. There is strong suspicion that part of the #cash being transited is #bribe money from the finalised tenders.

It is also not clear how the #GM/NFR, #PCME/NFR and #DRM/KIR allowed Dharmendra Sakhya to continue as SrDME/KIR for about two weeks after the reliever has reported and also to finalise high value tenders as no such provisions exists. This is also a clear #violation of #IndianRailways Establishment Code (Vol-I).

It also came into light that some of the higher officials of #NFRailway have tried to play down and to close the case with GRP/Siliguri. The sources say that after getting caught, the carrier/technician Pratap Kumar was advised to lie that the cash money was from sale of his land property.

GRP/Siliguri Notice to Pratap Kumar

These, aspects indicate deep rooted involvement in #corruption and money plundering at highest levels of NFR and to which Railway Board has closed its eyes.
