Two NFR staff detained at Siliguri by GRP with huge cash being sent by SrCDO/GHY?

Guwahati: On 16.07.25 two railway staff of mechanical department, Kamakhya were detained from Kamakhya-Ranchi Weekly Express by #GRP/Siliguri with two bags that could not be checked on train as were locked and the staffs were not having keys.

The staff stated that they were carrying the bags of #SrCDO/GHY from Kamakhya and which are to be handed over at Ranchi in the home of father-in-law of SrCDO/GHY.

When GRP/Siliguri broke open the bags at police station they found huge amount of cash totaling about Rs. 65 lakhs. Both the persons were arrested by the GRP/Siliguri.

As per reliable sources, GRP/SGUJ arrested Pratap Kumar, Technician who carry two money lock bags, and a coach attendent of Kamakhya-Ranchi Weekly Express train. Recently #PratapKumar, Technician joined Kamakhya train passing from coaching depot, Agartala, Lumding Division.

Sources said, Diganta Deka, SSE/Incharge OBHS/KYQ and Debabrata Saloi, SSE/Incharge/KYQ handed over these two money bags of Sr.CDO/GHY to Pratap Kumar to destination of father-in-law house of SrCDO/GHY.

It is learnt that Sr.CDO/GHY Dharmendra Sakhya was transferred to Guwahati (#GHY) only about one and a half month back from the post of Sr.DME/Katihar. He was at #Katihar Division for about 2 years and his reputation was quite bad.

It is still not clear how he could earn Rs. 65 lakhs in a short period of 1½ months? Are his senior officers #PCME/NFR and #GM/NFR not aware of his #corrupt activities or are they hand in gloves with him on corrupt earnings?

Sources say that it is well known in N.F.Railway circles that Dharmendra Sakhya is extremely close to the #GMNFR. It was the GM/NFR who played pivotal role for transfer of Dharmendra Sakhya from #EasternRailway to #NFRailway in 2023 and posting him as Sr.DME/KIR.

Apparently, no action is being taken against Dharmendra Sakhya for the huge cash obtained and being transported to Ranchi but as usual the poor staff under him are victimized.

It is also learnt from reliable sources that some of higher officials are trying to close the case.
