UTS on Mobile App becoming popular in South Eastern Railway

During April to November of the current financial year 40,46,864 passengers in four Divisions of SER purchased tickets using this App

Kolkata : Purchase of unreserved tickets by passengers using UTS on Mobile App is becoming more and more popular over South Eastern Railway. This is a unique facility for cashless, paperless and queue- free booking of unreserved tickets through smart phones having internet and GPS facility.

Usage of this online ticket booking facility has shown a significant increase in all the four divisions i.e. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi of South Eastern Railway.

During April to November of the current financial year i.e 2019-20, altogether 40,46,864 passengers in four Divisions of South Eastern Railway purchased tickets using UTS on Mobile App, registering a growth of 209%.

During the corresponding period of last financial year i.e April to November of 2018-19, only 13,09,629 passengers purchased tickets through this App.

Earnings from this allied digital mode of ticketing (UTS on Mobile), have also shown a rising trend. South Eastern Railway’s earnings from UTS on Mobile have been more than Rs. 5.50 crores during April to December of current financial year as against Rs. 1.52 crores during the corresponding period of last fiscal, registering a growth of about 260%.
