Unfortunately, the situation was marred by extensive corruption under the patronage of #GMRCF led to a lack of meaningful action to rectify the issue. The favored Chief Vigilance Officer (#CVO) and the Chief Vigilance Inspector (#CVI), was implicated in accepting significant illicit payments but failed to make any progress in resolving the case even after getting a report which clearly states that the #seats were of inferior quality. Additionally, the design (CDE, DyCME/Design) and quality departments (CQM; DyCQM; CMT; staff of quality lab) of RCF were complicit, accepting substantial sums of money and catering to the wishes of the firm, General Manager (GM) and the CVO.

Furthermore, the current Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer (#PCME) has shown a strong bias towards favoring the firm and is making every effort to provide them with preferential treatment and making every possible effort to make undue payments to firm. The firm has also given in writing that due to human error at their premises, such error in seat and berth occurred but this was condoned by the officials of #RCF on account of accepting substantial sums of money. The officials involved have taken multi-crores of rupees in corrupt practices, posing a serious threat to the lives of the people in the country.

Regrettably, in the event of a #fire incident, these #coaches, which are operating on the #tracks of the #IndianRailways, will certainly become highly dangerous environments akin to ‘concentration camps’ as established during #Hitler’s regime posing a threat to the life of many and a ‘Lakshagrih’ as earlier written by the #Railwhispers.

Taking into account the aforementioned details regarding the seat and berth issue, a Joint Purchase Order (#JPO) was signed by DyCME)/D-II; DyCMM/D/Fur; DyCME/Fur-II; and AFA to address the replacement of seats and berths for the first 10 coaches. The #JPO outlined that the seats and berths installed by M/s #DTL would be replaced in the field, and #PUFoam would be procured from M/s #SheelaFoam. Additionally, it was decided that fire barrier cloth would be sourced only from approved suppliers, while the vinyl-coated upholstery fabric and compreg would be procured exclusively from approved sources.

However, due to the involvement of officials who have accepted large sums of money as bribes, no progress has been made on the ground to date, which raises significant concerns regarding national security. These #corrupt individuals can be likened to #terrorists or members of #ISIS within the country, as they prioritize their own vested interests. Officials such as the General Manager of RCF, is alleged to be the mastermind behind these illicit activities. To be continue..
