GM/SER distributes prizes for competitions held during swchchhata pakhwara

Kolkata: South Eastern Railway has observed Swachhata Pakhwara as a part of  “Swachh Rail Swachh Bharat Mission” from 16th September, 2022 to 2nd October, 2022. Intensive Cleanliness Drives have been undertaken at Headquarters and four divisions of South Eastern Railway viz. Kharagpur, Adra, Chakradharpur and Ranchi.

A Drawing Competition involving Railway employees and their wards was organised on 21.09.2022 on the theme of “Water Conservation”. On 23.09.2022 an online Essay Competition was also arranged on the themes i) Water Pollution – Problem & Solution ii) Renewable energy and its uses.

Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway gave away the prizes of Drawing and Essay Competitions in a function held at SER Headquarters, Garden Reach, Kolkata on 25.10.2022. Miss Ayushi Naskar (9 years) secured the 1st position in the Drawing Competition. In the Essay competition, Niranjan Kumar, Jr. Clerk cum Typist of Mechanical Department was declared the winner.

In accordance with the Swachh Bharat vision of Prime Minister, Special Cleanliness Campaign 2.0 is being organized from 2nd to 31st October, 2022. Ministry of Railways has taken up its all stations for Cleanliness Campaign.

As per Railway Board’s directives, South Eastern Railway is also organising special cleanliness drives for better and cleaner environment.

A special emphasis has been laid on mechanized cleaning of stations. Special focus has been given on cleanliness of trains and stations and collection and safe disposal of plastic and other waste.
