GM/SER conducts annual inspection of Kharagpur Workshop

Kolkata: Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway conducted a detailed Annual Inspection at Kharagpur Railway Workshop on Friday, 25th February, 2022.

General Manager was accompanied by P. K. Mandal, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer and other Principal Heads of South Eastern Railway.

Manoranjan Pradhan, Divisional Railway Manager, Kharagpur, B. K. Rath, Chief Works Manager, Kharagpur Workshop and other officers of Kharagpur Workshop were also present.

During the Inspection, General Manager thoroughly inspected the Wagon Shop, Diesel Shop, Carriage Shop, EMU Shop and Wheel Shop including the Centre of Excellence etc.

General Manager has inspected and appreciated the Coil Manufacturing Section under Diesel Shop which is totally managed by the women staff.

During the Annual Inspection, General Manager inaugurated the Railway Camping Coach for Track Machine Staff, Refurbished AC-3 Tier Coach, CNC (Computerised Numerical Control) Vertical Turret Lathe, CNC Surface Wheel Lathe etc.

Later, during the inspection, the General Manager flagged off PSU Loco at Diesel Shop, Electric Loco at ERS POH Shop and Tower Car/OHE Inspection Car at EMU Shop in Kharagpur Workshop.

One Liquid Industrial Oxygen Storage Plant was also inaugurated by the General Manager at Kharagpur Workshop on this occasion.

General Manager appreciated the endeavour taken by the workshop authorities for keeping up the quality of work and also expressed satisfaction about the out-turn for this financial year.

She laid stress on the safety aspects and instructed the staff and officers to maintain the highest standard of safety.
