CBI apprehends DyCEE/Chg/NFR red-handed in an alleged bribery case of Rs. 15 lakh
R. K. Bora, DyCEE/Chg NFR is arrested by the CBI after he was caught red-handed while taking bribe from a private person in Guwahati. DyCEE/Chg Bora allegedly demanded a sum of Rs. 2.10 crore from the Patna based private company. CBI arrested R. K. Bora along with the bribe giver while he was taking Rs. 15 lakh.
Dated- 14.12.2021: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has today apprehended Ranjeet Kumar Bora, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Coaching), NFR, Maligaon, Guwahati and a private person (bribe giver) in an alleged bribery case of Rs. 15 lakh.
A case was registered against Ranjeet Kumar Bora, Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Coaching), NFR, Maligaon, Guwahati; Director of a Patna based private company & his employee and other unknown public servants & private persons.
It was alleged that the public servant while posted earlier as Deputy Chief Electrical Engineer (Construction) in NFR had obtained two immovable properties viz. benami flats as alleged illegal gratification from the Director of said private company.
It was further alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 2.10 crore from the private persons in lieu of said two benami flats for extending undue benefits to him in past and also assured to extend undue favour in future as well.
It was also alleged that the private person started transferring the bribe money to the public servant in instalments.
CBI laid a trap and apprehended the public servant & the employee of said Director of private company as soon as bribe of Rs. 15 lakh was exchanged between them.
As per CBI press release, searches are being conducted today at nine locations including at Guwahati, Patna, Noida etc. which led to recovery of several incriminating documents and unaccounted property, so far. Searches are still continuing.
