Challenge of Asansol

In #Asansol, a second accident occurred at the same level crossing. There are conflicting views on whether it was caused by the #SPAD making it an interlocked gate and the driver making a mistake or a mistake by the gateman at a non-interlocked gate.

See our X-Thread here:

Asansol recently saw the dismissal of a four-month-old Divisional Railway Manager (#DRM) following a #derailment. She subsequently challenged her transfer and was rehabilitated as DRM/Moradabad.

She was succeeded by an officer who as earlier DRM Ahmedabad. Would this mistake be attributed to him? If it is true that this was second accident on same Level Crossing, why #PHOD & #GM be not held responsible?

Asansol requires a seasoned and reliable leader who prioritises professional integrity. Such a person is most likely to be found among experienced DRMs or those currently serving in the role.

The question is whether anyone would agree to work with the existing leadership at #RailwayBoard and #ZonalRailways which places a greater emphasis on social media while exhausting divisional officers in avoidable peripheral tasks.
