Successful Trial of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Conducted at a Speed of 180 kmph
High-speed trial of 16-coach indigenously built Vande Bharat Sleeper Train successfully completed on the Kota–Nagda section
The final high-speed trial of the indigenously manufactured Vande Bharat Sleeper Train (Version–2), conducted by the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety (#CCRS), was successfully completed on the Kota–Nagda section under the Kota Division of West Central Railway.
The trial was carried out at a maximum speed of 180 kmph, during which all prescribed technical parameters of the train were thoroughly examined.
During the trial, the train’s stability, oscillation, vibration, emergency braking system, safety systems, and other critical technical aspects were tested. The performance of the train at high speed was found to be satisfactory, and the trial was declared completely successful.
The trial was conducted in the presence of the Chief Commissioner of Railway Safety, Janak Kumar Garg. The Divisional Railway Manager, Anil Kalra, along with senior divisional officers, was also present. Officers from the Research Designs & Standards Organisation (RDSO), Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, Medha Servo Drives Limited, and Faiveley India Pvt. Ltd. were present during the trial process.
The 16-coach sleeper rake used in this trial has been designed keeping long-distance passenger travel in mind and is equipped with modern amenities. The train features comfortable berth arrangements for sleeper class, advanced suspension systems, automatic doors, modern toilets, fire and safety monitoring systems, CCTV-based security, digital passenger information systems, and energy-efficient technologies, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and world-class travel experience for passengers.
With the successful completion of this high-speed trial, a significant technical milestone has been achieved towards the forthcoming operation of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train, strongly reflecting Indian Railways’ commitment to self-reliance and modern railway technology.
