Historic Milestone: First Kavach Commissioning of WR in Vadodara Division

Mumbai: Vadodara Division, Western Railway has achieved a quantum leap in safety standards on 30 December, 2025 with the successful commissioning of the #Kavach System on the critical Bajwa-Ahmedabad (BJW-ADI) section, first in Western Railway.

  • ⁠Kavach Equipped  Maiden Train: Sankalp Fast Passenger (59549/59550), ran with Loco WAP7 30459 equipped with HBL make loco kavach with 11 LHB coaches load.
  • ⁠NMS installed at Division office, Pratapnagar and Ahmedabad.

Safety Impact

This system is now fully functional to automatically mitigate safety risks, ensuring-

  • Prevention of consequences arising due to Signal Passed at Danger (#SPAD).
  • ⁠Automatic Speed Control (Sectional speed, Loop lines & PSR supervision).
  • ⁠Protection against Head-on and Rear-end collisions.
  • SOS facility 
  • ⁠Automatic whistling at LC gates.
