Cleanliness Awareness Programme at Railway Board
Street Play Highlights Importance of Cleanliness
New Delhi: On 22nd September 2025, under the ‘Swachchhata Hi Sewa Abhiyan 2025’, a cultural programme on cleanliness awareness was organised by the Railway Board Cultural Team at the Vigyan Sabha Hall, Rail Bhavan, with the objective of spreading awareness about clean habits.
On this occasion, Chairman and CEO of Railway Board, Satish Kumar; Member (Finance) Usha Venugopal; Member (Infrastructure) Naveen Gulati; Director General (RPF) Sonali Mishra; Director General (Human Resources) R. Rajgopal; Director General (Safety) Hari Shankar Verma; and Secretary, Railway Board Aruna Nair, along with a large number of railway employees, were present.

In his address, Chairman, Railway Board Satish Kumar emphasized the importance of cleanliness and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called upon every individual to dedicate 100 hours annually and 2 hours every week towards cleanliness. He said that we must all take a pledge to always remain aware of cleanliness and contribute to keeping our villages, cities, railway stations, and the nation clean.
The programme began with a Saraswati Vandana presented by Apoorva Pratibha and Pankaj Vishal. This was followed by a group song based on the ‘Swachchhata Mission’ performed by the cultural team. A street play was also enacted to vividly portray the need for clean habits and their benefits.
On this occasion, T.P. Chawla, Harsh Singh, Divya Khurana, and Pankaj Vishal recited their self-composed poems on cleanliness, leaving a deep impression on the audience. The programme was coordinated by Joint Secretary, Railway Board, T. Srinivas, while compering was done by Preeti Maan.
