Locomotive performance & reliability review by GM/NCR

Prayagraj Bureau: As a backbone of #Freight and #Passengers movement, #locomotive reliability directly impacts punctuality, fuel efficiency, and maintenance costs. Therefore, #NCR has focused on enhancing the performance and reliability of its locomotives.

During the meeting held on 09.04.2025 at the North Central Railway (#NCR), Headquarters office, Prayagraj to review locomotive performance and reliability, GM/NCR U.C.Joshi commended the efforts made to reduce locomotive failures across the zone.

He appreciated the significant improvements in performance and emphasized the importance of further strengthening monitoring systems. To enhance real-time tracking and diagnostics, he directed that CVVRS (Crew Voice & video Recording System) and RTIS (Real-Time Train Information System) be installed in all locomotives at the earliest.

Principal Chief Electrical Engineer, North Central Railway, Yatendra Kumar, emphasized that sustained efforts will continue to ensure not only the prevention of locomotive failures on the line but also to contribute significantly to saving railway revenue. He highlighted the importance of proactive maintenance, technological upgradation and timely interventions as key strategies to achieve these goals, thereby enhancing overall operational efficiency.
 
During the meeting, all the PHODs, HODs & other Electrical Officers and staff from both the headquarters and divisions were present. Meeting led & concluded by Chief Electrical Locomotive Engineer, Sanjeev Kumar with a strong resolve to enhance locomotive performance and reliability in close coordination to implement the directives promptly.
