The secrecy has caused most damage

It is surprising that a #TowerWagon-collision which led to damage of equipment and injury of railway persons is not logged in #SIMS like #SPAD of a Rajdhani. Similarly a train parting in #NFRailway reported locally till last news was not logged in SIMS.

What is the sanctity of SIMS?

Unless all #accidents are correctly accounted for, honest attribution of responsibility done, accidents will ‘mysteriously’ keep happening. No where in developed world are accidents reports kept #confidential. Even #Ministry of Civil Aviation which has Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (#AAIB) and Commissioner of Railway Safety (#CRS) under it published aircraft accidents investigations and puts them on their websites. One can explore #NTSB of #USA and #RSRB of #UK for english language accident reports.

This #secrecy has caused most damage. From botched service unification to empanelment for Level-16 & Level-17 in #IRMS, entire process stinks because of the opaqueness. #Railways like armed forces need credible leadership which is respected by juniors. But entire #system seems to be in a grip of incompetent or totally demoralised leadership. #Vigilance failure leading to widespread #CBI cases raises serious doubts on intent and competence.

This has made system highly indisciplined. Earlier there was shutdown of #Nagpur Division of #CentralRailway by controllers, yesterday it was Ghaziabad in #Delhi Division of #NorthernRailway where an unfortunate runover of #trackman led to #RailRoko inconveniencing tens of thousands of passengers.
