Labour Federation conducting “Strike Ballot” for restoration of OPS of all govt institutions including Railway

New Delhi-20 November 2023: According to the decision taken in the historic rally of Joint Forum for Restoration of Old Pension Scheme (#JFROPS) held on 10th August at Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi and the Annual Convention of All India Railwaymen’s Federation (#AIRF) held in Mumbai on 8th-9th November 2023, railway employees, including Defense Department and other Government Industrial organisations, a “#StrikeBallot” conducting on 21-22 November, 2023 for a nationwide strike in the entire Indian Railways, Defense Department and other government industrial organizational employees for the Restoration of Old Pension on the basis of which the date of Indefinite Strike will be decided for the demand of Restoration of Old Pension.

Com. Shiva Gopal Mishra, General Secretary of All India Railway Men’s Federation and Convener of Joint Forum for Restoration of OLD Old Pension Scheme (JFROPS) said that the single-point demand for restoration of old pension. The decision was taken at the historic rally held in New Delhi and by passing a resolution at the 99th Annual Convention of AIRF held on 8-9 November, 2023 in Mumbai. That to know their opinion for the decision of strike, on 21st and 22nd November 2023, the opinion of government employees and other Government Industrial organizations will be taken through “secret ballot” in the entire Indian Railways as well as in the Defense Department and other government industrial organizations and on the basis of their voting, the date of the indefinite strike will be confirmed. He said that if more than 60 percent of the employees vote in favor of the strike, then notice for indefinite strike will be given to the government in January or February.

In a press release Com. Mishra further said that the huge crowd of central and state government employees in the historic Maharally organized for the restoration of old pension at Ramlila Maidan on August 10, 2023, shown that there is a lot of anger among the government employees about the restoration of pension for their social security, because this is a fight for the rights of workers. No matter what the consequences may be, The railway employees including Defence and other Government organizations are fully prepared to sacrifice their lives. This Historical rally shown that if the government still does not Restore the Old pensions, then what a huge impact it will have on the call for further “strike”.

General Secretary Com. Shiva Gopal Mishra said that the Ballot boxes for “Strike Ballot” to know their vote for indefinite strike for restoration of old pension have been sealed and reached the workplaces of the employees in the entire #IndianRailways as well as in other government industrial organizations and all the employees are eager to cast their vote on the basis of which the date of indefinite strike will be declared.
