SER launches intensive drive against carrying of inflammable articles in trains
South Eastern Railway appeals to Railway passengers not to carry any inflammable materials like gas cylinders, petrol, diesel, kerosene, stoves, match-boxes, cigarette-lighters etc and any detonating substances including firecrackers
Kolkata, 17th November, 2023: During this ongoing festive season, #Ministry of Railways has issued instructions to #ZonalRailways to conduct drive against carriage of #inflammable items across the #Railways network. To make the train journey safer, #Railways has urged passengers to be careful and not to carry and also not let their co-passengers carry inflammable objects while travelling in trains.
Aditya Kumar Chaudhary, Chief Public Relations Officer (#CPRO), #SouthEasternRailway held a Press Conference at #SER Headquarters, Garden Reach on Friday, 17.11.2023 about SER’s intensive drive against carrying of inflammable articles in trains.
South Eastern Railway has launched intensive awareness drive for the passengers. Regular announcements are being made at Railway stations making an appeal not to carry inflammable and explosive objects like firecrackers, gas cylinders, acid, petrol, kerosene, etc. in trains during journey.
Drives are being conducted at Kharagpur, Shalimar, Santragachi, Balasore, Panskura, Mecheda, Digha stations in Kharagpur Division and at Purulia, Bokaro Steel City, Bishnupur and Adra stations in Adra Division. Drives are also being conducted at Ranchi, Hatia and Muri stations in Ranchi Division and at Tatanagar, Rourkela, Chakradharpur and Jharsuguda stations in Chakradharpur Division.
Railway Protection Force (#RPF) and Government Railway Police (#GRP) personnel have been alerted. Luggage and parcel items are being scanned thoroughly before loading.
Public awareness campaigns are also being conducted encouraging rail passengers to take preventive measures to avert fire incidents.
