SER surpasses annual scrap sale target of 330 crore

Kolkata: Making South Eastern Railway a “Zero Scrap” Railway is one of the mission areas of this zone. Necessary steps are being taken by all the Divisions and Workshops to realise value from sale of unserviceable materials.

South Eastern Railway has surpassed the Annual Scrap Sale Target of Rs. 330 Crore for financial year 2022-23 in January, 2023 itself, by selling scrap worth Rs. 336.56 crore.

This is 29.68% higher than the Scrap Sale achieved during the corresponding period of the previous year.

This has been achieved through the sale of various kinds of scrap which includes scrap rails, condemned locos, wagons & coaches, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, miscellaneous scrap, abandoned masonry and other structures etc.
