Railway Selection process simplified and Tech enabled to expedite recruitment process
Programme showcases continuous commitment of the Government towards providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring citizen welfare
Prayagraj Bureau: On Saturday, 22nd October, 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Rozgar Mela – the recruitment drive for 10 lakh personnel via video conferencing. During the ceremony, appointment letters were handed over to 75,000 newly inducted appointees.
This is a significant step forward towards fulfilling the continuous commitment of the Prime Minister to providing job opportunities for the youth and ensuring welfare of citizens. As per the directions of the Prime Minister, all Ministries and Departments are working towards filling up existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in Mission Mode.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join 38 Ministries/Departments of Government of India. The appointees will join the government at various levels viz. Group-A, Group-B (Gazetted), Group-B (Non-Gazetted) and Group-C.
These recruitments are being done in Mission Mode by Ministries and Departments either by themselves or through Recruiting agencies such as UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board. For expeditious recruitment, selection processes have been simplified and made tech enabled.
North Central Railway Railway like other zonal railways, participated in the PM’s Rozgar Mela. In this regard functions were held at two places on NCR; Kanpur (Chandra Shekhar Azad Agriculture & Technolgy University, Kanpur, UP.) Gwalior (West circulating Area towards Platform no.4, Gwalior Station, Gwalior M.P.).
Smt Smriti Zubin Irani, Minister, Women and Children Development & Minority Welfare was the chief guest at Kanpur, while Narendra Singh Tomar, Minister for Agriculture and farmer development , graced the occasion as chief guest at Gwalior.
Total 199 new appointees attended the function at Kanpur. Out of this 113 have been appointed in NCR Prayagraj Diision and headquarter, 15 in ITBP, 20 in ESIC, 10 in Central Bank, 19 Postal department, in 17 in income tax, 4 in BSF and 1 in Janshakti department.
146 new appointees attended function at Gwalior. This include 112 in Railway Jhansi division, 6 in BSF, 3 in Central Bank and 3 in Canara Bank, 3 in Postal department and 19 in Narcotics department.
These new appointees mainly belong to the various districts of UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, MP, and Delhi etc. Specially from districts like Prayagaraj, Kanpur, Jhansi, lalitpur, Mahoba, Auraya, Bhopal, hamipur, Alwar, dausa, Dholpur, Bhind, Mathura, Meerut, chhatarpur, Morena, Samastipur, karoli, Muzzafarnagar etc.
