‘पहली इंटर रेलवे स्कूल्स एथलेटिक मीट’ में कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल बना ओवरऑल चैंपियन

शेड्यूल्ड इवेंट नहीं कराई, फ्लैग डाउन के बाद भी मेजबान प्रिंसिपल ने जारी रखी प्रतिस्पर्धाएं
अपनी तरह की ‘फर्स्ट इंटर रेलवे स्कूल्स एथलेटिक मीट-2019’ का तीन दिवसीय आयोजन दक्षिण पूर्व मध्य रेलवे, बिलासपुर के हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूल-1 के स्कूल ग्राउंड पर 2 से 4 दिसंबर 2019 को किया गया। भारतीय रेल खेलों और खिलाड़ियों को प्रोत्साहन देने में सभी सरकारी विभागों में सबसे आगे रहती आई है। तथापि रेलवे स्कूलों के बच्चों को खेलों के प्रति और ज्यादा आकर्षित और प्रोत्साहित करने हेतु रेल प्रशासन का यह एक बहुत ही शानदार प्रयास था।
इस एथलेटिक मीट का उदघाटन द.पू.म.रे. के महाप्रबंधक गौतम बनर्जी ने एक रंगारंग कार्यक्रम के साथ किया। इसमें भारतीय रेल के सभी जोनों से आए रेलवे स्कूलों के करीब 300 छात्र-छात्राओं ने हिस्सा लिया। इसमें सेंट्रल रेलवे स्कूल, कल्याण ओवर ऑल चैंपियन रहा। कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल ने 48 पॉइंट्स के साथ कुल 14 गोल्ड, 6 सिलवर और 3 ब्रांज मेडल जीतकर सभी रेलवे स्कूलों को पीछे छोड़ दिया। कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल की टीम में सबसे ज्यादा 20 छात्र और 16 छात्राएं शामिल थीं।
‘फर्स्ट इंटर रेलवे स्कूल्स एथलेटिक मीट’ में बिलासपुर से कुल 23 मेडल जीतकर लौटी अपनी चैंपियन टीम के साथ कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल जैकॅब थॉमस (बीच में)।
कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल के खाते में दर्ज हुई यह एक और बड़ी उपलब्धि है। इससे पहले हाल ही में ऑल इंडिया बिल्डिंग काउंसिल द्वारा पुरातात्विक महत्व की इमारतों के लिए दिए जाने वाले विश्व स्तरीय बेस्ट मेनटेंड बिल्डिंग के लिए कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल की 100 वर्ष से ज्यादा पुरानी इमारत को इस पुरस्कार से नवाजा जा चुका है। वर्ष 2005 में कंप्यूटर शिक्षा के लिए राष्ट्रपति पुरस्कार पहले ही कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल को मिल चुका है।
तथापि इस पहली इंटर रेलवे स्कूल्स एथलेटिक मीट में दक्षिण पूर्व मध्य रेलवे, हायर सेकेंडरी स्कूल-1, बिलासपुर के मेजबान प्रिंसिपल द्वारा कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल की टीम सहित अन्य टीमों के साथ किए गए अनुचित व्यवहार और पक्षपाती निर्णयों का कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल सहित कई अन्य प्रिंसिपल्स और टीमों के कोचों ने असंतोष जाहिर किया है। बताते हैं कि मेजबान प्रिंसिपल के ऐसे व्यवहार को लेकर टीमों की शिकायत पर सीनियर डीपीओ, बिलासपुर को भी हस्तक्षेप करना पड़ा।
तीसरे और अंतिम दिन एजीएम द्वारा फ्लैग डाउन करने के बाद भी मेजबान प्रिंसिपल ने कुछ प्रतियोगिताओं को जारी रखा। अपने स्कूल की टीम के हारने के डर से मेजबान प्रिंसिपल ने दूसरी शेड्यू्ल्ड रिले नहीं करवाई, जिससे कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल एक और गोल्ड मेडल जीतने से रह गया, जबकि जीते हुए 14 गोल्ड मेडल में से एक गोल्ड मेडल भी कल्याण टीम को नहीं दिया, न चैंपियनशिप की घोषणा की गई, और न ही जीतने के बाद कल्याण टीम के कोच को मंच पर बुलाया गया।
यही नहीं, प्रतियोगिताओं की समाप्ति के बाद, जब रात हो रही थी, तब मेजबान प्रिंसिपल द्वारा कल्याण स्कूल की टीम के साथ सभी टीमों को तत्काल स्कूल परिसर छोड़कर जाने के लिए कह दिया गया। अंततः टीमों की शिकायत पर इस मामले में सीनियर डीपीओ को हस्तक्षेप करना पड़ा। खिलाड़ी छात्र-छात्राओं के खाने- नास्ते और पीने के पानी की भी उचित व्यवस्था नहीं की गई थी। हालांकि मेजबान प्रिंसिपल द्वारा कैश की जरूरत बताकर प्रति पार्टिसिपेंट प्रत्येक रेलवे स्कूल से करीब ₹1500 नकद लिए गए। जबकि पारदर्शिता और हिसाब-किताब के दृष्टिकोण से यह सारा ट्रांजेक्शन ऑनलाइन होना चाहिए था।
कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल ने उपरोक्त तमाम कमियों, विसंगतियों, पक्षपात एवं अनुचित व्यवहार को लेकर एक लंबा पत्र लिखकर दक्षिण पूर्व मध्य रेलवे के मेजबान प्रिंसिपल से स्पष्टीकरण मांगा है।

Dear Principal, Rly School, Bilaspur!
Answer few questions connected to the All India Railway Schools Athletic Meet held at your SECR School No.1, Bilaspur.
Were you really prepared to host the event and did the basic homework of consulting experts from the field for a high profile event like that which is inaugurated at GM level?
The information given on request of others after much insisting is misleading and blunt lies therefore you have to substantiate the facts put forward by you as the meet result.
Why did you and your team fail in your hospitality after charging at national standards from the participants? The food quality was not for athletes and your people were discourteous to athletes.
Why did you fail in providing the basic seating facilities for participants during these three days?
No sensible person ever engage their own staff as match officials or referees for a high class meet like this. Is this a national meet or a local school event?
It’s sheer non-sense to call athletes just after finishing a 400 metres race for another 100 metres. Was it a calculated move to see that someone does not perform? Usually a good break is given between such events.
You had hardly 30 items 15 each for girls and boys with about 300 participants with huge grounds which can finish it in one to one and a half days easily but took three days still you cancelled events like relays which were listed. We host CBSE cluster meets with 150 schools and above with much ease in very limited spaces of our school grounds of 2500 square metres.
Was it a calculated move to make one of our girls Leena Thakur to make an extra round in 1500 metres race to see that she collapse. She is an ace athlete of our school who stood first still by making her competitor still 20 metres behind. We have video record of this that can be produced on demand.
You did not have a time keeper, which is a must in such events. What went wrong? Simple rules like athlete’s age is certified as per school records based on date of birth certificate you took a fight for no reasons and were quite biased against an innocent child from my school named Master Dayanidhi Gautam, ultimately I had to talk to your SrDPO to settle the issue, who though not an academician like you but have a better sense of understanding to resolve matters like that.
Though we won relay race 4X400 boys, neither certificates nor medals were given.Heats of Girls relay was taken but you did not allow the finals to complete after finishing 150 metres, saying that there is a GM order to stop it.
You people threatened the athletes every now and then saying that complaints will be registered with SrDPO, DRM, GM against the athletes. Is this not harassment of kids who travelled hundreds of kilmotres to accept your hospitality?
On the final day you did not show the courtesy to announce Championship while concluding the ceremony. From a local newspaper item from Bilaspur we came to know that you are joint champions along with us and that is mind boggling. What moral right you have to share that with us?
We scored total 48 points whereas if proper points as per standards of Amateur Athletics Federation/CBSE Sports Rules for relay is added it comes to 59. Your school who is no where near us how come become joint champions overnight?
Such mockery will make you a laughing stock among the educated crowd. The fluke way you did it in the group stating 19 points for Kalyan is misguiding. Your own statement shows that KYN School has won Championship, still you did not announce it or gave it to them.
After the events your people tried to force the kids of several schools out of your premises including us. What did you think- they should sleep on the streets of Bilaspur? Ultimately our people had to go and meet SrDPO to stay back in the premises. Is it not cruelty towards women and children among other athletes?
Most of the kids were not coming as they were seriously into their studies but I have called their parents and took a special session to convince them saying that you are a good friend and the school is really good that you will get a good exposure in going there. But you spoiled the soup.
If you suffer from Louis XIV syndrome, correct it. Championship stuff needs guts grit and mettle if we try to snatch it by hook or crook children will make fun of us.
Pls take a deep breath next time when the “All India stuff” blink at you, it’s not like the exchanges of pleasantries we adults had last year in the airconditioned rooms and conference hall over a cup of tea. Avoid PR stunts let us be men and women of substance like Dr Indira Vemuri our retired colleague.
If I raised a wrong point please correct me, if not please accept things as it is. Let the Championship go to the team scored most, Best Athletes to them who scored most. Don’t hijack it.
You were reluctant to honour us, no worry, I have made a score card and attached photos our athletes with you. If you doubt, click here to see it on wide screen. Can you deny the photographic evidence of these children taking Gold and Silver medals in your presence. If it is correct then where is our championship?
The medal and memento quality is poor how did you think of pasting printed paper on it. Every athletes see it as the fulfillment of their aspirations and preserve it from fading away.Why did you concluded the Meet half way and conducted the ceremony and flag down without completing the registered events?
When you concluded the Meet and did Meet Flag down why did you continued the event after flag down? Was it not a trick to dodge the athletes to show that you are continuing and that is why you did not announce championship?
You had an ulterior motive of hijacking the game that is why you did a mixed relay race thinking that using your ace athletes you can win points but Kalyan Rly school athletes failed your plan and defeated your team with metres of difference in 4X400 relay race. Is it not your callousness that you did not give Gold medals to the relay athletes who won the relay?
Why did not you allow the second relay after beginning it taking GM’s name that there are orders to stop? Was it a trick that you stopped it knowing that Kalyan Rly school athletes are going to win again? When Kalyan School team managers visited your SrDPO Shri Uday Bharati, he admitted that it is wrong and there is no such orders.
The ground was not adequately made up with good tracks to run for a national level event. Is it not a deficiency from your side? There was shortage of water for athletes and that is also too much.
You had no proper schedules. Score boards, timings. Everything you kept whimsical to hijack the meet in your favour still you failed.
Last but not least, who is that joker Chatterjee controlling the games at finishing points who chew tobacco through out before kids? Don’t you feel ashamed of such guys? Is it permitted by any rules??
कल्याण रेलवे स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल श्री थॉमस द्वारा अपने पत्र में उठाए गए विषय बिल्कुल स्पष्ट हैं। जाने-अनजाने अथवा जानबूझकर की गई उपरोक्त तमाम कोताही पर रेल प्रशासन सहित दक्षिण पूर्व मध्य रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक एवं प्रिंसिपल सीपीओ को भी उचित संज्ञान लेकर मेजबान प्रिंसिपल साहब से जवाब-तलब किया जाना चाहिए। इसके अलावा इंटर रेलवे खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता के लिए जिस तरह की स्पष्ट व्यवस्था और नियम एवं दिशा-निर्देश तय हैं, उसी तरह की व्यवस्था इंटर रेलवे स्कूलों की ऐसी प्रतिस्पर्धाओं के लिए भी तय करके यह सुनिश्चित किया जाना चाहिए कि भविष्य में इस तरह की कोई कोताही न हो।
