Southern Railway: Second Bharat Gaurav Train starts between Madurai to Prayagraj
After successfully running India’s first Bharat Gaurav Train service on 14th June, 2022, from Coimbatore North to Sainagar Shirdi, Southern Railway has roped in another Registered Service Provider for the second Bharat Gaurav Tourist Circuit Train service.
The second service of this theme-based roundtrip service will have a 12-day pilgrimage itinerary to the holy destinations, commencing from Madurai to Prayagraj Sangam via Puri, Kolkata, Gaya, and Varanasi and back to Madurai via Vijayawada and Chennai.
The service is scheduled to commence on 23.07.2022. M/s. Travel Times (India) Private Limited, a Chennai based Registered private Service Provider will operate the service.
The service provider, who had registered on 11.04.2022, has placed the rake request demand online on 09.06.2022, for a rake composition of 16 coaches comprising of Six 3AC coaches + 7 Sleeper class coaches + 1 pantry car + 2 SLRs along with Bank guarantee for Rs. 1 Crore as Rake Registration Fee.
Indian Railways introduced the “Bharat Gaurav Trains” scheme with effect from 23.11.2021, with the objective of showcasing India’s rich cultural heritage and magnificent historical places to the people of India and the world.
So far, Southern Railway has succeeded in bagging 8 registrations from service providers under Bharat Gaurav Scheme, of these registrations, the first service provider commenced the Bharat Gaurav roundtrip Train service from Coimbatore North to Sainagar Shirdi on 14.06.2022.
The second service provider has scheduled the service to be operated from Madurai on 23.07.2022.
