“Garib Kalyan Sammelan” organised at six locations over the S.E.Railway
Kolkata: As a part of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 years of Independence, “Garib Kalyan Sammelan” was organised at six stations/locations of Kharagpur and Adra Divisions of South Eastern Railway on 31st May, 2022.
The programme was organised at Purulia, Bankura and Bishnupur Stations of Adra Division and Kharagpur (South Institute), Jhargram and Digha Stations of Kharagpur Division.
Elected representatives at these places interacted with the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes of Government of India.
The National Level Event of “Garib Kalyan Sammelan” was organised at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh in presence of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
PM interacted through video conferencing with the beneficiaries of the several welfare schemes of Govt. of India viz. PM Awas Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Swachchh Bharat Mission, PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat and various other schemes.
In West Bengal, the State Level Event was organised at Railway Indoor Stadium, Behala, Kolkata. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology was the Chief Guest of the event.
Suvendu Adhikari, Leader of Opposition of West Bengal Legislative Assembly was the Guest of Honour. On this occasion, Railway Minister in his address, mentioned about GovernmentтАЩs commitment for upliftment of poor, weaker and deprived sections of the society through its different welfare schemes.
In the Garib Kalyan Sammelan organised at Purulia Station, Baneswar Mahato, MLA, Narahari Mahato, MLA, Sudip Kumar Mukherjee, MLA, Kamalakanta Hansda, MLA, Nadiar Chandra Bouri, MLA and Vivekananda Bauri, MLA were present.
At the Garib Kalyan Sammelan held at Bankura Station, Dr. Subhas Sarkar, Minister of State for Education, Govt. of India was present along with Smt. Chandana Bauri, MLA, Satyanarayan Mukhopadhyay, MLA, Niladri Sekhar Dana, MLA and Harakali Protiher, MLA were present.
The programme at Bishnupur was attended by Saumitra Khan, MP, Amarnath Sakha, MLA, Nirmal Kumar Dhara, MLA and Dibakar Gharami, MLA was present.
In the Garib Kalyan Sammelan organised at South Institute, Kharagpur, Dilip Ghosh, MP, Hiran Chatterjee, MLA and Sital Kapat, MLA were present.
Kunar Hembram, MP was present at Jhargram Station while Smt. Tapasi Mondal, MLA, Smt Sumita Sinha, MLA, Rabindranath Maity, MLA, Santanu Pramanik, MLA and Arup Kumar Das, MLA were present at Digha Station.
