MR inspected Regional development projects during his visit to Khajuraho

Hold discussions related to development of the area with public representatives

Vande Bharat train to be introduced for Khajuraho after completion of Khajuraho-Lalitpur electrification project

Prayagraj Bureau: Indian Railways is committed for providing world class amenities to passengers at stations having religious and tourist importance. On 16.04.22, during his two days visit to Khajuraho, Minister of Railways, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw visited Khajuraho- Jhansi National Highway/Expressway.

He also inspected the works completed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Yojana in Bundelkhand region and interacted with the beneficiaries. Minister took stock of the ongoing development projects in the region at Maharaja Chhatrasal Convention Center, where Collector Chhatarpur presented a power point presentation.

In this meeting, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister/Government of India Virendra Kumar, MP Vishnu Dutt Sharma, MP Smt. Riti Pathak, Minister in-charge Chhatarpur, O.P. Saklecha, Mineral Minister Brijendra Pratap Singh, MLA Pradyumna Singh Lodhi, MLA Rajesh Prajapati, Organisation secretary Smt. Lalita Yadav, District BJP President, Malkhan Singh, General Secretary Chhatarpur, Arvind Pateria participated among other public representative bodies. Shri Vaishnaw, along with the Railway and District officials discussed about the steps to be taken for development of this area.

On demand of running a Vande Bharat express for Khajuraho, Shri Vaishnaw said that it will be introduced once electrification work gets completed. He also informed  that rake points have been approved at Chhatarpur and Khajuraho, fulfilling a long standing demand of local merchants.

Along with this, Minister informed that rail tickets can be obtained from 45,000 post offices currently and vision is to integrate 2 lacs post offices with railway ticketing facilities.

On the issue of tourist special train for Khajuraho, Minister informed about the operation of Bharat Gaurav trains and the positive response received to Ramayana Express, first such Bharat Gaurav train. Shri Vaishnaw said that the government servants should develop the attitude of serving the downtrodden and strive hard for the upliftment of the society.

During this, Railway Minister also discussed about the planning for redevelopment of Khajuraho station. Khajuraho station has to be made as a world class station. Minister, along with the local administration and railways, encouraged the farmers to set up solar plants on their land so that their income could increase.

One Station One Product Scheme is also being expanded so that local level products will be made available in the market through stations. After the ongoing pilot project, which has been a huge success, 1000 stations will be included under this scheme, in which Chhatarpur station will also be included.

After that the Minister met with Padmashree awardee Dr. A.K. Jadia & Vice Chancellor/Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University T.R.Thapak. While addressing the press, he informed about the development works of Bundelkhand region. Apart from this, he also discussed about the development of the area with the tourist guides and hotel association members.

On this occasion, GM/NCR Pramod Kumar, GM/WCR Sudhir Kumar Gupta, DRM/Jhansi Ashutosh along with District Collector Sandeep, Superintendent of Police and other Railway and district officers were present.

After that, departing from Khajuraho station Railway Minister conducted window trailing inspection of Khajuraho-Lalitpur section to review the progress of electrification work.

MR made a stop over at Lalitpur and conducted inspection of Lalitpur station. MP Jhansi-Lalitpur Anurag Sharma met Ashwini Vaishnaw at Lalitpur and accompanied MR on window trailing inspection till Jhansi.

During the inspection, MP discussed various ongoing projects like upcoming fly over at Lalitpur, Dailwara -Birari chord line, Jhansi-Bina 3rd line project among others. Minister along with MP Jhansi interacted with passengers at Lalitpur station. Passengers expressed happiness over the vast improvement in cleanliness in railway premises.
