SMs celebrate “POWER DAY” & remembered the historical event
All India Station Masters Association (AISMA) Mumbai Division, Central Railway convened a meeting at Kalyan on Wednesday, 11th August 2021 to celebrate “POWER DAY” and remembered the historical event of 11-08-1997 of stoppage of all trains for 2 minutes at every signals to show the unity to administration and how important is the role of Station Masters in Railway working.
The meeting was conducted under the presidentship of A. K. Jain, station director, Kalyan and participated by veteran leaders and hero of the 1997 strike B. R. Majumdar, S. B. Mahidher. Suresh Tripathi, editor of Rail Samachar is also present on this occasion.
Meeting attended by other senior station masters. All senior veteran leaders were remembered like P. K. Das, Vivek Nair, and Mr. Ramani on this occasion.
Mr Das, SM/Dadar, was not present because he participated in national executive committee meeting at Chennai.
Dada Majumdar and Mr Mahidhar in his address thanked all station masters who participated in the strike on 11-08-1997. “The results of which we are getting now by achieving initial 4200, Dress allowance, MACP 5400 and many more”, they said.
Also discussed about the current issues of withdrawal of station masters from suburban sections, vacancies, MACP, stipend, dress allowance to MVIs, membership and other issues.
Members of Divisional Executive Committee were also present – V. S. Kashikar, President, G. P. Yadav, Secretary, Kumar Kundan, Finance Secretary, Krishna Hasalkar, Asst Divn. Secretary, Lalmohan Singh, Organising Secretary, Premnath Kumar, Internal auditor.
The most important presence was Dharamvir Singh Arora, Zonal President of Central Railway. He has not only addressed the meeting but also conducted the same.
This historical event also organised & celebrated in all Divisions of Indian Railways including Southern Railway who was in the lead role of that 2 minutes event.
