Electrification work in full swing in Tatanagar – Badampahar section

Kolkata: Electrification work in Tatanagar – Badampahar Section in Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway is going on in full swing.

The total length of the electrification project from Tatanagar to Badampahar is 89 KM which was sanctioned in the year 2018-19 and the estimated cost is Rs.105 crores.

In the Budget (2021-22) an amount of Rs. 28.5 crores has been allotted for this project.

In the first phase, total 55 km electrification work between Tatanagar and Aunlajori stations of Tatanagar-Badampahar section is nearing completion.

Electrification of entire section from Tatanagar to Badampahar will help to induct electric train services in this route.

There are altogether seven stations enroute including passenger halts in this section.

The stations of this section are also being upgraded by installing panel interlocking and improved signalling with faster system of working.

The completion of the total electrification work from Tatanagar to Badampahar will help to establish seamless train operation in this section.

It will also ensure better connectivity and punctuality in service by providing energy efficient and pollution free transportation with zero carbon emission.
