The Zonal Railway administrators least bothered and deliberately ignoring the directives of Government

Are they not accountable for the dereliction of their duty to the nation and for this unpardonable offence which could lead to the devastation of these poor track maintenance staff and their depended family members?

Each and every member of railway family is complying with the guidelines and instructions issued by the government to follow social distancing as it is the only preventive measure to break the chain of infection of #COVID19.

All Railwaymen are aware that right from the primary transmission stage of COVID 19 outbreak, General Secretary/NRMU Com. Venu P. Nair have also cautioned everyone and urged them to remain safe following the preventive measures prescribed by the Health Ministry of Centre and States.

On his advise, hundreds of workers and office bearers of NRMU and principle activists from almost all branches across Central Railway and Konkan Railway have swung to action and helped thousands of staff reaching out to them even at remote locations with distribution of Masks, Soaps, Sanitizers and other required accessories.

It is a matter of pride that NRMU/General Secretary has led from the front to render help to railwaymen not only of CR/KRCL but to numerous staff belonging to other Zones who were struck up after the declaration of lock down in different rakes at different locations including at New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Vasai Road, Mulund, Khadawali, Byculla, Thane, Panvel and other places.

He is doing his best to alleviate the sufferings of staff who are entrusted to perform their duties as essential service personals in different ways.

He took up the issue of the shortfalls noticed in BAM Rly Hospital Byculla, Mumbai, where a #Corona_Ward is established on instructions of Railway Board and at the quarantine wards prepared at Parel Sports institute.

He appraised GM, PCMD and MD to have serious attention on the lapses noticed by him which was presented through a detailed representation to them.

He is pursuing constantly the case of rampant utilisation of Track Maintainers in groups on tracks against the basic principle and directives issued by Health Ministry for engaging bare minimum workers to avoid transmission of the deadly COVID19.

He has already expressed his concern on the arrogant and arbitrary decision taken by railway administration and have intimated the same to higher authorities including General Manager, Principal Chief Engineer, Chairman, Railway Board, Railway Minister and even Prime Minister of the country.

Hope everybody is safe and may take utmost care to come out of the troublesome period and they can have that with the morale and inspiration being given by General Secretary Venu P. Nair.

Mr Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of health, Govt of India repeatedly warns about the criticality of the situation created by COVID 19. Stated that this is the biggest challenge the country faces Mr Agrawal said, “the mistake of even a single individual not complying the rules led down by the government could prove very costly for him and his family members”.

Yet the Zonal Railway administrators are least bothered of this message and deliberately ignore directives of the government and engage trackmen every day in groups to expose themselves for transmission of the deadly disease.

“Dapit of repeated requests of NRMU through various representations and personal appeals of General Secretary Com. Nair, Principal Chief Engineer and other competent authorities of Central Railway chosen to be silent on the serious matter”, said in a release by the NRMU.

Are they not accountable for the dereliction of their duty to the nation and for this unpardonable offence which could lead to the devastation of these poor track maintenance staff and their depended family members? asked the many office bearers of the Unions.
