Joint action by RPF & GRP crack high-value theft cases, reassure public safety

Mumbai: In a major success, joint action of the Railway Protection Force (#RPF) and Government Railway Police (#GRP) have solved two high-value theft cases involving passenger belongings, reinforcing public confidence in railway security.

The cases relate to the #theft of approximately 11 tola of gold ornaments—worth around ₹3,93,000–from passengers travelling on Train No. 11087, Veraval–Pune and Train No. 11049, Ahmedabad–Kolhapur.

Upon receiving the complaints, a dedicated joint task force was formed. Preliminary investigation identified members of the notorious #SansiGang as prime suspects. The team conducted a detailed analysis of CCTV footage from Pune, Shivajinagar, Lonavala, and Miraj railway stations, which confirmed the gang’s involvement.

Through coordinated and persistent efforts, the joint team successfully recovered the entire stolen property and apprehended all accused persons. This operation was executed with precision under the able guidance of IG/RPF/CR, SrDSC/Pune, and SP/Railways, Pune.

The RPF has appealed to passengers to remain vigilant and keep valuables, particularly gold ornaments, under close watch during their journey. Passenger alertness plays a crucial role in preventing such incidents and ensuring safe travel.
