Two #goods-trains have collided directly in #Sahibgunj. The #accident happened on Tuesday early morning at around 3.30 am on 1st April, 2025. Two loco pilots have burned alive in this #accident. As per information, at least five railway workers and a #CISF personnel deployed for security have been seriously injured.
After the #collision, many wagons derailed and the coal laden #goods train caught #fire. As soon as the information about the incident was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and started controlling the fire.
Where did the accident take place
The accident took place on the Farakka-Lalmatiya MGR private railway siding near the Barhait police station area of Sahibganj district in Jharkhand. As per preliminary information, the empty goods train rake was stationed at Barhait MT when a coal-loaded through-passing goods train, heading from Lalmatiya, crashed into it with full force.
Wake up
Blaming junior employees is not a solution. When there is no #rotation, officers and supervisors are busy in gaming their postings, ground level #Safety is orphaned.
#Asset failures have ballooned. #Locomotives, #Signal Gears, #Wagons are failing in large numbers every day. Every failure reduces margin of #safety, which further reduces when coupled with poor posting decisions.
Where to start?
#Rotate, #Rotate & #Rotate. All levels-those officers who have been in one city for more than 15 years-treat them as radioactive and deal them accordingly. Urgently withdraw unethical house retention corruption and manipulation incentivising decisions.

Rail Babus are infected
Hon’ble PM Modi ji, your medicine is good, but your rail babus—who are the syringes of delivery—are infected. Work on it without delay, else despite massive record investments, your leadership will leave a toxic and dysfunctional legacy in railways.
It needs full time hands on minister and massive cleaning up of stables. Restore balance by getting no non-sense officers in decision making.
#IndianRailways leadership is washing its hands as this is said to have happened in a #NTPC siding. Nothing can be sadder. IR lost its loco drivers. Responsible have to be brought to book. #DRMs & GMs are busy in inaugurations, walkathons, flagging off of rallies, sports & so-called cultural activities, lavish dinners in club and WWO programs, and all sundry works.
Do #IndianRailways trains/rakes go in to areas not maintained to IR standards? Who verifies it? This is a very urgent question that needs to be answered. How can Ministry of Railways wash its hands off?

उड़ीसा में रविवार, 30 मार्च को हुई ट्रेन नं. 12551 कामाख्या एक्सप्रेस की दुखद रेल दुर्घटना-जिसमें 11 कोच पटरी से लुढ़क गए-एक यात्री की मौत हुई और आठ यात्री गंभीर रूप से घायल बताए गए-प्रथमदृष्ट्या यह दुर्घटना ट्रैक में गड़बड़ी के कारण हुई—इसके चलते आमला-नागपुर खंड—जो #CentralRailway में आता है—की कहीं कोई खबर ही नहीं आई। यह खबर दबकर रह गई। यहाँ 30 मार्च को ही एक कांकोर की खाली कंटेनर रेक बेपटरी हो गई।
