Indian Railways Received “Best Electoral Practices Award” on National Voters’ Day

New Delhi: Indian Railways honoured with the “Best Electoral Practices Award, 2024-25” by the Election Commission of India (#ECI) during the National Voters’ Day celebrations today on 25th January. The event is organised at Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantonment in New Delhi. This recognition highlights Indian Railways’ crucial role in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, where it significantly contributed to voter awareness and logistical support.

To promote #voter awareness and encourage citizen participation in elections, the #IndianRailways, in collaboration with the Election Commission of India, leveraged its Rail Display Network (#RDN) across stations, official websites, and mobile applications to disseminate voter helpline details. Pre-recorded announcements were also made at Railway stations.

Additionally, a special train, the #SVEEP_Express, was operated in the Kashmir Valley in coordination with local authorities to engage and inspire youth to actively participate in the #electoral process. #Socialmedia campaigns with hashtags like #ChunavKaParv and #DeshKaGarv promoted participation.

Railways also facilitated secure and seamless #transportation of over 3,74,000 para-military personnel through 383 trains across the Nation for conducting fair elections.
