The merger of departments is not a reform !!

If the large size of the Board is an issue, one wonders why did the govt created new posts there only recently !

The merger of departments is not a reform. Actually the opposite is correct. It’s not moving in the right path at all. But towards nemesis. Complete destruction.

A strong, vibrant, profit-making govt department serving billions of people for 167 years is fast getting reduced to the status of an impoverished and pauperised organisation, following in the foot steps of Air India, BSNL and so many others primarily because one man who is a zero as a manager wants an extension of tenure and a few more want to grab top posts.

It’s being portrayed as if Railways have never done well. This is farthest from the truth. The Minister has no time to spare either. He spend most of his precious time at the commerce ministry. He even does his video conferencing from there.

Then like all incompetent Managers they blame it all on the complex organizational structure of Railways.

As if departmentalism is a new thing and as if it’s the only problem ! The truth is Managers at the top are supposed to thrash out inter departmental issues.

They are paid for that. If the large size of the Board is an issue, one wonders why did the govt created new posts there only recently !
