Deferment of proposed Strike by Station Masters of Indian Railway
Mumbai: The Secretary General of All India Station Masters’ Association had served a Strike Notice on CRB/CEO, Railway Board stating that all the Station Masters of Indian Railways will be one one day ‘Casual Leave’ (CL) on 31.05.2022 and also that the train services on that day and following days would be affected due to this stay in strike by the members of this Association.
“Our notice of strike and the five point charter of demands were seized under conciliation by Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner, Central, Ministry of Labour, Parliament Street, New Delhi and the DyCLC/Central was pleased to initiate conciliation meeting/joint sittings with the Railway Management and this Association to bring about an amicable settlement of the demands”, association said in a press release.
The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 puts restrictions on the trade union from going on strike when a conciliation proceeding is pending before a Conciliation officer.
“As a principled Trade Union with deep rooted trust on the ideals of Indian Constitution and respect towards the Acts and Rules passed thereunder, we are forced to defer the strike to another date which as per Section 22 of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, shall be seven days after the conclusion of conciliation proceedings”, association said.
Association once again thanks for the concern and care shown towards the five charter of demands connected with the working condition and job satisfaction of Station Masters and believe that a higher level of appreciation will be there in future.
