International Nurses Day celebrated at SER Central Hospital Garden Reach

Kolkata: South Eastern Railway celebrated International Nurses Day at SER Central Hospital, Garden Reach, Kolkata on 12th May, 2022. Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Atulya Sinha, Additional General Manager, Dr. Mihir Kumar Chowdhury, Principal Chief Medical Director, Dr. Anjana Malhotra, Medical Director and other senior railway doctors and officers were also present on the occasion.

International Nurses Day is observed across the world on 12th May to honour the service of the nurses and commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Ms. Florence Nightingale, pioneer of modern nursing system.

This year the world is celebrating the 202nd Birth Anniversary of Ms. Florence Nightingale and the theme of International Nurses Day 2022 is – “Nurses : A Voice to Lead – Invest in Nursing and respect rights to secure global health”.

Speaking on the occasion of International Nurses Day, Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway expressed her gratitude to the members of this noble profession for their sincerity, commitment and service to the humanity.

In this connection General Manager also mentioned about the dedicated and selfless service rendered by the nursing staff of SER Hospitals since the outbreak of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, SER also inaugurated two Modular Operation Theatres at SER Central Hospital, Garden Reach as a part of observance of International Nurses Day.
