SER surpasses scrap sale of Rs. 300 crore

Kolkata: South Eastern Railway after surpassing the Annual Scrap Sale Target of Rs. 280 crore for this financial year on 16.02.2022, has achieved another milestone by crossing the sale figure of Rs. 300 crore thereafter in a very short period on 24.02.2022 and thus selling total scrap worth Rs.303.46 crore till 28.02.2022.

Sale of Rs.303.46 crore is 55.89% higher than the last year’s scrap sale of corresponding period and even 27.75% higher than the last financial year’s total sale of Rs.237 crore.

History has also been created by Chakradharpur Division of SER by selling scrap worth Rs.12.92 crore in a single day auction on 23.02.2022 which is all time highest sale by a single unit in SER. Now SER is targeting to surpass all time highest scrap sale figure of Rs.326 crore.

This has been achieved through sale of various kinds of scrap which includes scrap rails, condemned locos, wagons and coaches, casnub trolley, ferrous, non ferrous, miscellaneous scrap, abandoned masonry structures and other structures etc.

Other than the above, SER is the only Zone in Indian Railways to dispose 6 numbers of Overage Diesel Locomotives, Model WDM3A in serviceable condition earning above Rs.9.50 crore, after working out a break through strategy as the demand in the market is very limited with very few probable purchasers.
