SERailway observes Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan on Gandhi Jayanti

Kolkata: South Eastern Railway organized a massive Shramdaan & Cleanliness Drive at Howrah Station (New Complex) as well as at other important stations under SER jurisdiction this morning (02.10.2021) in commemoration of 152nd Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
The “Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan” at Howrah Station (New Complex) was conducted under the guidance of Atulya Sinha, Additional General Manager, South Eastern Railway.
Saibal Bose, Chief Environment Engineer, other senior officers and staff, members of SER Bharat Scouts & Guides, RPF Personnel etc. took part in the cleanliness drive and offered Shramdaan.
A “Nukkad Natak” (Street Drama) was staged by the members of SER Bharat Scouts & Guides to create awareness about maintenance of cleanliness.
“Swachchhata Pakhwara” organized by SER from 16th September, 2021 concluded today (2nd October, 2021).
Different activities organized during the “Swachchhta Pakhwara” included pledge taking ceremony, tree plantation, checking of purity of water at stations, awareness campaign, webinar, inauguration of effluent treatment plant etc.
As a part of Swachchhata Pakhwara, competitions on drawing, essay writing and slogan writing were organized at SER Headquarters.
Sudipta Chatopadhyay of Medical Department bagged the first prize in drawing competition while Sibnath Bandyopadhyay of Personnel Department secured the first position in essay competition.
Avinash Kumar Das of Mechanical Department and M Srikant of Stores Department secured the first prize in English and Hindi Slogan Writing competition respectively.
