Extraordinary work done by RPF post Mecheda, Eastern Railway

RPF/Post/MCA have used their presence of mind with sheer dedication towards their work to help a mentally disorder person and their family

Kolkata: An extraordinary work done by on duty officers of RPF Post/Mecheda (MCA) by rescueing of one mentally ill person, native of Bihar, during lockdown period and handed over to his father at RPF Post/MCA on 28.5.2020.

During lockdown period, declared by Govt of India one mentally ill person arrived and moving in and around at Mecheda Railway Station and its surrounding area (Railway premises).

Officers and staff of RPF/Post/Machheda observed his activities round the clock as per direction by PC/RPF/MCA, Pramod Kumar, IPF.

SI S. K. Pandey and SI H. K. Jha of RPF/Post/Mecheda have taken active role. They have noticed quit a few time that he is muffling his “Janeu” (Sacred thread) over his ears, while urinating. It means that his conscious mind is working at some extent.

During interrogation he has given some clue that he is belonging to Bhabhua area and his dialect is supporting this fact.

They have published Photographs of unsound person in social media as well as so many active groups of whatsApp.

From the feedback of WhatsApp group, it has detected his name and address as Gobinda Dubey age about 50yrs, S/o Hira Dubey, R/o Vill- Kudra Lalapur, Post/PS- Kudra, Distt- Kaimur-Bhabhua (Bihar), PIN 821108.

On 26.05.20 one person had made contact with SI S. K. Pandey of RPF Post/MCA over his mobile and given his identity as Radhey Shyam Dubey, younger brother of the above unsound mind person and he has also stated that before lockdown his elder brother left the village due to mental illness. They were tracing him to their relatives and elsewhere.

As per request, RPF staff have detained/rescued the said unsound mind person and brought to RPF/Post MCA.

As per direction, father and brother of unsound mind person, after maintaining all legal formalities and due permission from DM of Kaimur- Bhabua, Bihar, regarding movement by road for taking over of his son from the Post.

That on 28.5.2020 the father Hira Dubey and brother Radhey Shyam Dubey of rescued person have attended at RPF/Post MCA and produced Adhar card and Epic card and other relevant documents regarding identification as well as relationships of his father/brother and a prayer has submitted for taking over his son (rescued unsound mind person).

After verification of the relationship on 28.5.2020 around 21.30 hrs, the rescued unsound mind person has been handed over to his father (Hira Dubey) in presence of witnesses with proper acknowledgement and directed them to follow instructions of COVID-19.

Hence, both officers SI S. K. Pandey and SI H. K. Jha of RPF/Post/MCA have used their presence of mind with sheer dedication towards their work and done a very extraordinary work by handing over a mentally disorder person to their family.
