Blatant violation of MHA directives causing widespread transmission of Covid19 at Railway Hospitals

MUMBAI: About 6 symptomatic cases (one died) dealt by Byculla Railway Hospital in blatant violation of specified MoHFW and IMA medical protocol have reported positive of Covid19 since 4.4.2020.

The insensitivity and arrogant approach of management is only responsible for this spike in incidents as the staff as well as staff unions of hospital have brought the lapses and lacunas to the attention of Hospital administration time and again.

The matter of irony is that Railway hospital management is reluctant and refuse to have a coordinated efforts with state medical nodel agencies in the mission to tackle this calamity when the Nation as a whole struggle to combat the threat.

It is also suspected that there is no any mandatory cross monitoring system of state and central government agencies and Railway hospital operation has been left to their own liberty that made them irresponsible to anything that happens in the country.

Even the datas being prepared of the positive cases, deceased persons, quarantined persons etc and passed to public domain by central and state machineries in daily press briefing do not includes the cases dealt by Railways and it remains as a no man’s land in the sovereign country.

It is requested to the Govt and concerned Railway authorities for immediate and constructive intervention at Byculla Railway hospital, conduct an investigation of the cases happened and do the needful to persuade them to contain the increasing incidents.

This communique has been sent to Administration only due to the serious concern and kept as a representative of staff union. The higher authorities are least bothered to hold accountability for their lapses and instead dubiously started witch-hunt.

A fear psychosis has been engulfed in the mind of medical staff at the hospital with ever increasing number of positive confirmed doctors, nurses and other supporting staff in Mumbai city. The fate of staff and others who approach Byculla Railway Hospital is in distress and the in house patients are in stigma.

Please help to set the system right..For God sake, it is requested by a office bearer of the NRMU.
