A Silent Green Revolution at MCF
Publishing something truly motivating from my campus at Modern Coach Factory (#MCF) Raebareli
#PKMishra, GM/MCF (#IRSME, 1986 batch), a #mechanical engineer by profession but a passionate #environmentalist by heart, has been quietly leading a remarkable #transformation at MCF campus.

Right from the joining as a GM/MCF—his first briefing with officers of #MCF in March 2023, his message was very clear, “while we continue to push the boundaries of coach production (which we did—2000+ coaches for the first time in MCF’s history since it’s inception in 2014–we must also commit ourselves to greening the campus and conserving the environment”.
One beautiful example of this vision is the Miyawaki forest developed at MCF campus. Just 20 months ago, it was a paddy field. Today, it’s a lush green forest with trees like Amla, Bel, Jamun, Mango, Litchi, Guava, Almond, Cashew, Cardamom, Clove, Cinnamon and more… now home to different birds and small animals.

In the last two years-
- Nearly 1 lakh trees planted across the campus
- 9 large ponds created (31 million litre capacity)
- 5 water recharge systems installed (65 million litre recharge capacity)
- With all rainwater harvesting systems, total water conservation capacity now approx. 630 million litres
- As a result, AQI at MCF is now regularly in the green zone (44–46)…Once a Barren land is slowly and gradually having full of biodiversity and natural green cover…
This is not just tree plantation—it’s about creating a lasting legacy of sustainability and responsible growth.
Just felt this deserves to be published. It reminds us that, along with our daily responsibilities, caring for the #environment is one of the most meaningful contributions we can make for future generations.
