SER observes Fire Safety week
Kolkata: South Eastern Railway has started observing #FireSafetyWeek from 21.04.2025 to 26.04.2025 following the laid down guidelines of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in coordination with the Directorate, General Fire Services, Civil Defense, Home Guards and Union Ministry of Home Affairs to enhance awareness, preparedness and compliance with Fire Safety Norms across the Health Care Facilities Nationwide.
The theme “Unite to Ignite-A Fire Safe India” started off with a demonstration on Fire Suppression System by the local fire brigade authorities in front of the Main Administrative Building which was witnessed by Anil Kumar Mishra, GM/SER, Dr. Anjana Malhotra, PCMD/SER, entire Medical Fraternity of the Headquarters together with all Principal Head of the Departments and their staff.
This event was followed by a Pan India pledge taking ceremony which was administered by Secy. Health, Ministry Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi, through a Webinar, which was attended by the medical authorities at the Central Hospital Auditorium and the divisions of SER and also by PHODs and their officers and staff in their respective departments at the HQ.
The week-long programme will have more Webinars on fire safety compliance and regulatory requirements. Day long fire mock drills at all Divisional Railway Hospitals as well as Central Hospital, Garden Reach have also been planned.
The programme will end with a poster making competition and a fire safety quiz. The entire exercise has been planned to take significant steps towards a Fire Safe India by re-enforcing our collective commitment to fire safety.
