Strict action taken against stone pelters on Steel Express by RPF/SER

Two accused persons – Rahul Bhakat and Sajal Nath – both involved in the stone pelting have been arrested

Kolkata: Train No. 12813, Howrah-Tatanagar Steel Express was pelted with stones by miscreants on 20.01.2025 at 21.22 hours in Galudih-Rakhamines section of Kharagpur Division under the jurisdiction of RPF Post #Ghatsila and a case (No.15/2025 u/s 153 of the Railways Act) was registered at RPF Post, Ghatsila.

Railway Protection Force (#RPF) launched an investigation and promised strict action taken against those responsible for the attack. In this connection, a team comprising #RPF & #CIB officers and staff organised drives/raids  and undertook strategic ambush and raids based on creditable source  of information in the night of  21.01.2025 to round up culprits involved in the stone pelting upon the running train.

During the ambush and raids, two accused persons namely Rahul Bhakat, age 24 years and Sajal Nath, aged 19 years both residents of East Singhbhum district in Jharkhand involved in the stone pelting have been arrested. Both the accused persons are being prosecuted in the Court of Law at Chaibasa observing all the legal formalities.
