To meet the need of the general passengers additional coaches attached with popular long distance trains

Kolkata: #IndianRailways, in response to the growing demand from the common passengers, has decided to operate every popular Mail/Express train with a minimum of four General Second Class coaches throughout the year, aiming to boost unreserved passenger travel and provide greater accessibility and convenience for economically weaker sections of society.

In this financial year all over Indian Railways 385 pairs of trains running with 665 rakes have been augmented by utilizing 957 Second Class coaches (LWS).

As part of this initiative, South Eastern Railway has also augmented additional General Second Class coaches in 7 popular Mail/Express trains in the last one month, ensuring these trains now run with at least four such coaches, enhancing affordability and comfort for unreserved passengers across the region.
