Harrasment of staff and not maintaining physical distancing by Mumbai Division, Central Railway

Mumbai Division, Central Railway harrassing staff working in S&T, Civil Engineering and Traction Distribution departments by the concerned divisional authorities scheduling major black where maintaining physical distancing will not be possible.

It has been strongly objected by S. K. Dubey, Divisional Secretary, Mumbai Division, Central Railway Mazdoor Sangh.

Dubey written a letter to DRM/BB and said, CRMS have received an infomation that a major block has been planned of almost two days of some drain related work between Vadala & Rawali junction section, km 9/43 -10/0 on Harbour line.

All departments. like Engineering, TD, OHE, S&T and RPF will be involved in this work.

About 150 contractor labours will be present at site during the block.

This block will most probably be taking place in coming week.

The area between Vadala-Rawali junction is full of small hutments.

Also, a Corona positive patient has been recently found in this area.

During the block period, there is a strong possibility of mass crowd gathering near the site.

As a result, physical distancing will not be possible.

There is also a heavy risk of Coronavirus spreading to railway employees as well.

If any of the employee gets infected by Corona, it will be a very unfortunate thing and then who will be responsible!

He requested to DRM to postpone this block and advised that it can be carried out at any later time when situation is normal and conditions are safer outside.
