Financial sufferings faced by so many Railway Contractors during lockdown

An important update in context of financial sufferings faced by so many Railway Contractors as a community during this lockdown:-

General Secretary Rajesh Kumar Menghani written a letter on behalf of Indian Railway Infrastructure Providers Association (IRIPA) and its contractors family and said that they are going to raise following demands from PMO, Labour Ministry, Finance Ministry or one can say Government of India.

Request for refunding the Labour Cess deducted by Railways & other principals during FY 2019-20 for compensating the financial burden faced by us. (This request have been also published in leading newspaper but due to oversight the refund period have mentioned as 3 months instead of a year).

Request to waive off the Interest liability on Cash Credit, Overdrafts, WCDL, Mobilization Advances, Machinery Loan, Vehicle Loan etc. for at least 3 months. The conditions for minimum churning limits and stock statements also needs to be relaxed.

Request to include all Railway contractors under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana (PMGKY)- A Scheme where employee’s & employer’s share of EPF & EPS contributions (24% of wages) for three months are paid by Govt. of India.

Currently this scheme has applicable to entities having upto 100 employee and 90% of employees must have monthly wages less than Rs. 15,000.

Request to extend the due date for depositing TDS for month of March, April & May to 30.06.2020 without any interest and penalty.

Further an additional request will be submitted to Railway Ministry:-

Request to provide exemption for submitting Bank Guarantees during the tenure of lockdown and waive off the penalties attached to it under GCC.

Above letters will be submitted by IRIPA on behalf of its contractors family by utilizing the best resources available with the association, Menghani said.

He told, as we all know that we have to fight unitedly under this unprecedented time and we request everyone to participate in getting attention of the Govt. of India through Print media, Social media etc. and act as a family in this difficult time. We are sure that we will ride this wave together.

Payment not yet paid

Dear Sir,

There are three seperate rob Payment not yet paid.. all are UNDISPUTED by Deptt..

I don’t know why should they be still held back..

Our Employees and sub contractors employees are facing distress only because of inefficiency of Railway Deptt.. PLEASE TELL THIS TO Railway Minister Piyush Goyal Ji and Chairman Railway Board also.

You as Employer is fully responsible for any untowards incident to us or and to any of our employee, since without full payment by our Employees/Railways, we also can not pay full to our Employees..

I’m sure you will not lije my above words.. but it is a fact.
