Impact: Complete train operation discontinued upto 25th March

Inspite of best efforts of Railways in upkeep of cleanliness, many instances of cases of persons advised for quarantine travelling by train have come to notice. This is making train travel potential cause for spread.

“Due to strong health advisory, it’s decided to discontinue complete train operations.”

The restrictions which were earlier notified upto 22 hrs tomorrow will now continue for 72 hours more, i.e. Upto 22 hrs of 25th March.

After Odd hours today i.e.21st March, no train will be run.

Railway shall not facilitate spread of Corona, hence train operations are going to be closed.

Extension of closure of trains beyond 22 hrs tomorrow for 3 now days, will be notified tomorrow morning by Railway Board.

Now focus shall be on getting Railway stations vacated. This has be done carefully.

In the day of #JanataCurfew, crowds shall not be allowed to form at stations.

To break the chain of spreading of #COVID-19, #RailwayBoard will be supporting Zones.

Around 400 trains will be running during Janata Curfew and some Divisions have some exemplary work to plan for transport of passengers alighting at enroute stations in coordination with State Governments.

This delicate situation shall be handled tactfully, frequent announcements have to made.
