Accident and Collision at EDFC under the jurisdiction of Prayagraj Division

When a PHOD deliberately takes administrative decisions to benefit old friends under him, then this was bound to happen!

Another feather in the cap of careless #PCEE/NCR Anup Agarwal. As a parting gift to the NCR, Mr Agarwal who is “PCEE/CR in waiting” has given a majestic #SPAD and #RearEndCollision to the #NCR Zone and #Prayagraj Division. So it happened that at 4.15 hrs on Tuesday, 04.02.2024, train no. #RTPR dashed in the Brake Van of #MIGK who was in the section waiting for proceeding signal.

Luckily everyone survived and none of the staff of the dashing train and no staff from the train ahead got any fatal injury. LP and ALP of dashing train simply injured. The accident took place near New Rasoolabad station of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (#EDFC). The crew of the train RTPR went into a deep sleep and overshoot the automatic signal in red condition and dashed into the Back Vehicle (BV) of the train ahead.

The PCEE/NCR is taking zero bit of interests in his works and least bothered about #safety of train operations. Instead he is busy taking pleasure baths in the #Mahakumbh area and fancy boat rides.

When was the last time PCEE/NCR did any #footplate with the staff or did any seminar to address the safety concern? How come the staff went into sleeping when the locomotives are equipped with Vigilance Control device (#VCD)? How come the staff did overlook the #signal to ram their engines into the #BV of the train in front in EDFC where the distance between the signals is approximately 2 km each? How could they sleep for so long?

The reason is that the PCEE/NCR himself is sleeping and having fancy dreams about his incoming tenure as PCEE/CR in Mumbai where he served continuously more than 24 years.

Had there been any intent of zero tolerance on safety breach in the #RailwayBoard, they would have taken action in media reports and shunted this reckless fellow out of NCR well before the #KumbhMela itself rather than booking him his choice posting in advance and leaving the safety of pilgrims in the hands of God itself.

In continuation, it is also like to highlight further misadventures of PCEE/NCR

There is no DEE/RSO in the Prayagraj division and no dedicated #AEE or #DEE/Operation at Kanpur to look into train operations. The DEE/RSO/Prayagaraj post has been vacant and no officer has been deputed to look into it strangely. This was done intentionally to extend the benefits of gendering works of #RSO to DEE/Coaching who happens to be a childhood friend of PCEE of NCR Anup Kumar Agarwal.

Next is there is neither officer nor the Prayagraj division allowed to implement the panel of Loco Inspectors (#LIs) who are the eyes, ears and hands of the RSO system. Whimsically the #CELE and #PCEE/NCR instructed that the panel of LIs should be implemented after the Mahakumbh Mela is over while the LIs are retiring every day.

Nearly 80 LIs are now left lurching and waiting for themselves to get posted and forced to work in the lower grades. This has overburdened the existing LIs who are notable to watch their staff fully and efficiently. In such cases the staff definitely will fall asleep and dash their trains.
